17 E F L I N G A N N U A L R E P O R T 2 0 1 9 – 2 0 2 0 IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS In December of 2019, the Kiosk service system was implemented, as mentioned above. 2020 will see the beginning of preparation for a wide- ranging project to lay the groundwork for a service system under the working title “Mínar síður” (My area) for members of Efling. Also, the services offered to Efling members in Hveragerði and its surrounding area will be improved by hiring a person to be based there. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic we cannot say exactly when this will be possible. The effects of Covid-19 on the members of Efling will have to be monitored. It will be interesting to do a survey on the year 2020 with regards to the effects on grants from the educational fund and the sickness benefits fund to see whether the number of applica- tions for grants and/or sickness benefits will increase or decrease.
