COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE The staff of the department of contract compliance handled various tasks related to the wage struggle of union members, the operating year being one of rough wage disputes in both the private and public sector. Of all the particular tasks having to do with the wage struggle, the ones most worthy of mention are the dissemination of information to the union’s members and assistance in voting on strike action, for instance related to the wage struggle of hotel workers and coach drivers in the spring of 2019. The staff of the department of contract compliance taught classes in the union representative courses of Efling, gave lectures as the experts of Efling have done for years. Additionally, the representatives of the department took part in the educational cam- paign of the organizing and development division of The department of contract compliance of Efling employs 10 people. The staff and department man- ager had a lot to consider during the past operating year. The most important may have been the crucial work on procedure and integration in responding to, and acting on behalf of, union members. The depart- ment has employees of three nationalities. Most of the staff speaks two or more languages, such as Polish, Lithuanian, Spanish, Russian and English, to name a few. The assistance of other employees in the office of Efling has also been sought as much as has been needed and possible to enable the department to pro- vide the best service possible for the largest number of union members. Reforms to the registration and processing of cases were introduced in accordance with new data protec- tion laws which took effect in July of 2018. Other tasks had to do with the various procedures of employees, for instance the setup of standard letters to insti- tutions such as the directorate of labor (VMST).
