Orlofsblað Eflingar Sumarið 2021

ORLOFSBLAÐ EFLINGAR-STÉTTARFÉLAGS 1 Kæru Eflingarfélagar Þegar þetta er skrifað er að heita hávetur en samt er daginn farið að lengja og sól smáhækkar á lofti, já um nokkrar mínútur hvern dag. Þannig lengist dagskíman alltaf aðeins og fyrr en varir verða vorbjört kvöld með hlýnandi veðri og notalegheitum. Það leiðir huga okkar svo að því að þá styttist óðfluga í sumarleyfistíma landsmanna, en það er einmitt allra skemmtilegasti tími ársins! Þá njóta þúsundir fjölskyldna líka sumarhúsa stéttarfélaganna um allt land en sú þjónusta er afar eftirsótt af félagsmönnum enda oftast á mjög viðráð- anlegu verði. Mikil og aukin eftirspurn er meðal félagsmanna Eflingar eftir orlofshúsum, ekki aðeins á sumrin heldur líka á vetr- artíma. Við þessu hefur verið brugðist með öflugu átaki við uppbyggingu og fjölgun húsa og er hið gríðarstóra og metn- aðarfulla verkefni í Stóra Fljóti í Reykholti skýrt dæmi um það hvernig verið er að efla og styrkja þessa starfsemi. Það verkefni er á sinn hátt einstakt á þessum vettvangi og lýsir vel metnaði félagsins á sviði orlofsmála. Starfsfólk orlofssjóðs hefur undanfarið unnið að því hörð- um höndum að undirbúa orlofssumarið og er, þegar þetta blað berst félagsmönnum, að leggja lokahönd á allan undir- búning sumarúthlutunar orlofshúsanna. Ekki aðeins til að tryggja að gera allt klárt fyrir vertíðina, heldur einnig að leita leiða við að bæta við orlofskostum eftir fremsta megni. Þannig má benda á að við bætum nú við húsi á Þingeyri á Vestfjörðum en mikil eftirspurn er eftir húsum á því land- svæði og fjölmargir sem hafa á stefnuskránni að ferðast um og kynnast þeim landshluta í sumar. Dear members of Efling This is written at a time of year which could be described as the dead of winter. But the days have started lengthening a bit, by a few minutes each day, and the sun climbing a bit higher into the sky. This extends the daylight hours a little each day and before we know it there will be bright spring evenings with warmer weather and cozy moments. This reminds us that the time is near for people to start taking their summer vacations, which, as it happens, is the most fun time of the year! That’s when thousands of families also use the summer houses owned by unions all over the country, a service which is very popular among union members, not least because it is very affordable. There is a great and increased demand among the members of Efling for summer houses, not only during the summer but also during the winter. The response to this development has been a powerful effort to build up the summer house neigh- borhoods and increase the number of houses available. The best example of how this is being strengthened and extended is the enormous and ambitious project underway in Stóra Fljót at Reykholt. That project is singular in this field and illu- strates well the ambitions of the union in vacation matters. Einnig kemur inn nýr kostur sem er stórt og glæsilegt hús við Varmahlíð í Skagafirði. Það er verulega spennandi kostur enda miðsvæðis og kjörið að dvelja þar og kynnast þessu mikla og fallega sögusvæði. Er það einlæg von stjórnar og starfsmanna orlofssjóðs að sem flestir félagsmenn Eflingar eigi þess kost að nýta sér einhverja af þeim fjölmörgu kostum sem í boði eru fyrir sumarið. Með þeim orðum sendum við sólríkar sumarkveðjur og óskir um gleðiríka daga! Not only to make everything ready for the rush, but also to find ways to add as many vacation options as possible. It bears mentioning that we’re adding a house in Þingeyri in the West fjords, as there is a great demand for summer houses in that part of the country and there are many who plan to travel there and explore that part of the country this summer. There is also a new option, which is a large and elegant house at Varmahlíð by Skagafjörður. It’s a very exciting option as it is in a central area and the great and beautiful historic scenery is perfect for exploration. It is the sincere wish of the boards and staff of the recr- eational fund that many members of Efling make use of one of the numerous options on offer this summer.
