The members of Efling have a variety of discounts to choose from, the union sells Camping card (Útilegukortið) and Fishing card (Veiðikortið), as well as travel discounts for both Icelandair and Úrval Útsýn/Sumarferðir. Also members can get a partial refund for lodging within this country by handing in an invoice. The cards, along with the gift-vouchers are sold at the union’s offices but may also be ordered via email at orlof@efling.is with the name and ID number of the buyer. The refund can be applied for by submitting a receipt to the union’s offices or by sending an application email to orlof@efling.is The Fishing Card 2021 The fishing card is a very convenient option, granting almost unlimited access to 36 fishing lakes all around the country, around most of which one can set up tents without charge. It is therefore convenient for both anglers and families. The card enables one to set up camp near beautiful lakes for long or short periods of time without having to spend a lot of time finding out where to purchase a fishing license or whether the lake contains any fish. The card is valid for one adult and children under the age of 14 when accompanied by the card holder. The fishing card costs members 5.000 kronas whereas the full price is 8.900 kronas. The card is sold on its discount prize at the union’s office. Each member can by one card per year. 5 points are deducted from the point balance. Note that the cards are not registered to the name of the purchaser, but it is the user who registers his ID-number onto the card. They may be used as gifts. Further information at http://veidikortid.is Use the discounts Travel around Iceland lodging discounts Union members can apply for a partial refund for lodging payments in this country. This is done for those union members who do not make use of the vacation houses but pay for accommodation in their domestic travels. In order to receive the refund, a legitimate invoice must be submitted with one’s name and the ID number of a certified service provider and the union will refund half of the invoice, though not exceeding 10.000 kr . The invoice with banking information need to be submitted at the union’s office or sent at orlof@efling.is This applies to all lodging as well as domestic package deals which include lodgings. It also covers caravan rentals, where the same terms apply. Please note, though, that the discount does not apply to the vacation houses of Efling or other unions. In 2021, no more than 200 such grants will be available.
