ORLOFSBLAÐ EFLINGAR-STÉTTARFÉLAGS 45 The Camping Card 2021 The card is valid for about 42 camping grounds around the country and provides two adults and four children under the age of 16 with free lodging on the camping grounds of the camping card partners for up to 28 nights during each oper- ating year. There is no limit for how often each of the camping grounds may be visited in the 28 nights in question but only four consecutive nights may be booked on each occasion. The camping card may be used for tents, tent- -trailers, tent- -campers, trailers and RV’s. The camping card is valid for as long as the camping grounds are open until (and including) September 15 th . The card is now sold to the members of Efling for 12.000 kronas, whereas the full price is 19.900 kronas. The card is sold on its discount prize at the union’s office. Each member can by one card per year. 5 points are deducted from the point balance. The voucher costs union members 20.000 kronas which is a considerable sum for those who can make use of those vouchers. These gift cards can be used for all the package deals at Sumarferðir and Úrval-Útsýn and the travel agencies have committed to accept them as payment for those trips. The gift cards are not valid for trips during Christmas and Easter. When booking the services of Úrval Útsýn, the number code on the gift card is entered, which reduces the total sum by 30.000 kronas. Special offer on fishing in Norðurá In the coming summer, union members will have the option of purchasing fishing-licenses for the nethermost area around Norðurár at Borgarfjörður. Fishing licenses there have been on offer for the past few summers and it’s safe to say that this offer has been well received, especially by those staying in Svignaskarð, who were able to go there to fish. Available licenses may be sought and ordered at the service center in Svignaskarð from May 1 st 2021, tel. 893 1767 between 8am–4pm. Half and entire days may be purchased. The price is very modest – only 6.000 kronas for half a day or 10.000 kronas for an entire day. Fishing takes place from 7am–1pm and then from 4pm–10pm. The fishing area and the fishing spots are well labelled and accessible. In this area, people have been angling for years and the stream contains salmon, river-trout and brown-trout. Also, there is a greater number of sea-trout to be had there in late summer and the autumn. The types of bait permitted are worms, fishing-flies and spinners. So, trying out this fishing-spot is well worth it and highly advisable!
